Scissor Keeper to Accompany "Sweet Spring" sampler

Scissor keeper is made from any color of linen that would coordinate with Mountain Meadow Wildflower thread I used a 4" square piece of 30-ct. Pink Pearl Legacy linen from Access Commodities. Center and stitch the large center motif from Area 6 of the sampler on the linen. In the center, I attached a Matte Silver Petite Glass Treasure from Mill Hill (#12118). I finished the scissor keeper as follows.

Trim the piece carefully so that your square measures about 3/8" to 1/2" beyond the points of the motif diamond shape.

Fold in half across the middle with right sides together. (It won't fold flat because of the attachment in the middle.) Stitch up short sides about 1/4" from the points of your motif.

Turn right side out; push raw edges together to form a diamond shape. Your stitched motif should be centered in this diamond shape. Lightly stuff with fiberfill. Close the back by turning under the raw edges and slipstitching closed. Before you close the top, make a twisted cord with several lengths of Mountain Meadow Wildflowers; insert in the top and stitch shut. Before you close the bottom, make a tassel with several strands of Mountain Meadow Wildflowers and coordinating floss. I embellished my tassel with a Mill Hill Crystal Glass Pebble Bead (use up what you have on hand!) and inserted it before stitching up the bottom of the scissor keeper.
